~ About The Live Music ~

we've booked some of Rhode Island's best acts for this. we've posted
some of their songs on our MySpace Page which you can access by clicking here
and here's a little more info about each artist

starting things off at 1:30 pm is the great Ben Pilgrim who spins stories through his
songs accompanied by just an acoustic guitar & a bluesy harmonica. Pilgrim is signed to 75orLess Records who released his debut Further Adventures of Ben Pilgrim

at 2:30 pm the Rice Cakes hit the stage. this group of 3 Providence Kids with diverse musical backgrounds that come together to form a female fronted sound that's heavy in rhythm and harmony with melodic Fender Rhodes Piano, Glockspeil and Guitar throughout. he Rice Cakes were recently voted Best Local Act of 2010 by the Providence Phoenix

Miss Wensday performs at 3:30 pm. She's a singer/songwriter and performing artist
who writes music that combines elements of rock, jazz, trip-hop, tango and blues & as a singer Wensday is inextricably drawn to the torch songs of the past. Miss Wensday has shared the stage with greats like Steven Stills, Michelle Branch, Todd Rundgren and
the one and only Alice Cooper (who has even been quoted calling Wensday
“the other girl next door!”)

the Detroit Rebellion will hit the stage at 4:30 pm. they play tuneful, spare, moody and compelling story-driven Acoustic Country Blues Folk songs influenced by everything from  Tennessee Ernie Ford, Johnny Cash, Leadbelly to The Pixies

at 5:30 pm the 'Mericans play their brand of Experimental Americana. the group
has released 2 albums and won the Providence Phoenix Best Music Poll multiple times.
the 'Mericans are led by former Purple Ivy Shadows vocalist (and rock & roll yard sale organizer) Chris Daltry. a new 'Mericans album is on the horizon!

at 6:30 pm the Legendary Lord Rockingham (Ted Widmer) just might take us all by
storm (he may have a scheduling conflict) with his great songs about growing up in Providence. Widmer was part of several '80s-'90s Seminal area Rock Bands including Mente the Paesanos, he Clamdiggers and was a founding member of the Upper Crust before moving on to more "important" things

our 7:30 pm band is Butcherings who describe their influences as shelving, rotisserie,
deletions, adaptations, delays, pressure, decay, glass making for a "seamless stream of blistering, ballistical, flat-out-fobulous flailing n wailing."

our final live band of the day is the Brother Kite who hit the stage at 8:15 pm and will
amaze with their awesome shoegaze-power-pop-rock with layered guitars and
buoyant melodies. The band just released their 3rd full-length album 'Isolation' which was mixed by Thom Monahan (Pernice Brothers, Vetiver, J. Mascis) & has already been met with critical acclaim (read this week's Phoenix article Here)
